An aneroid barometer and timepiece clock movement in an unusual ebonised oak case in the form of a Caduceus (the staff of Hermes or a herald). With two intertwined snakes wrapping around the dials signed Joseph Davis & Co on the barometer.

The aneroid Barometer with mercury thermometer, has a blued steel indicator that covers the top half of the dial, with the bottom used for the Fahrenheit and Centigrade scales of the thermometer.

The french timepiece clock has an eight day platform escapement movement with a brass bezel and white enamel dial.

Made in the late 19th Century circa 1890
